Driving Payment Excellence Across High-Volume B2C Operations

Are you a payments expert who thrives on optimising transaction flows, negotiating with providers, and delivering seamless customer experiences? Our clients are seeking a Payments Manager to oversee all aspects of payment processing across our high-volume, multi-geography iGaming operations.

This role sits at the critical intersection of finance, operations, and customer experience, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and commercial acumen to manage millions in daily transactions.

About the Role

As Payments Manager, you’ll take ownership of their entire payment processing ecosystem—ensuring every transaction is smooth, secure, and cost-effective. You’ll manage relationships with payment service providers, optimize conversion rates, reduce costs, and continuously improve the payment experience for customers across multiple countries, currencies, and payment methods.

This is a strategically important role where your decisions directly impact revenue, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced B2C environment.

What You’ll Do

Payment Operations & Processing

  • Manage day-to-day payment processing for incoming and outgoing transactions
  • Oversee card payments, e-wallets, bank transfers, and alternative payment methods
  • Ensure smooth, reliable payment flows across multiple geographies and currencies
  • Continuously streamline payment processes and reduce transaction failures
  • Improve authorization rates and minimize payment friction

Provider & Platform Management 

  • Maintain strong relationships with payment service providers (PSPs), acquirers, and banks
  • Negotiate rates, contracts, and SLAs to optimize costs and service quality
  • Monitor provider performance and hold partners accountable to agreements
  • Evaluate and onboard new payment partners as needed

Payment Strategy & Growth 

  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate new payment methods to improve conversion rates
  • Expand payment options to reach new customer segments and markets
  • Analyse payment trends and recommend strategic improvements
  • Drive payment innovation to stay competitive in the market

Reconciliation & Financial Control 

  • Oversee daily and monthly reconciliation between payment gateways, acquirers, and internal systems
  • Ensure accuracy and timely settlement of all transactions
  • Maintain financial integrity across all payment channels
  • Resolve discrepancies quickly and efficiently

Fraud Prevention & Risk Management 

  • Work with fraud prevention tools and teams to monitor payment-related risks
  • Detect and mitigate fraud attempts and suspicious activity
  • Manage chargeback processes and reduce chargeback ratios
  • Balance fraud prevention with customer experience

Compliance & Regulatory Management

  • Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, PSD2, AML/KYC requirements, and data protection laws
  • Stay current with payment regulations across all operational jurisdictions
  • Implement and maintain security standards and best practices
  • Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements

Data, Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop payment KPIs, dashboards, and reports for internal stakeholders
  • Provide insights into costs, conversion rates, and customer payment behavior
  • Interpret payment data, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements
  • Use data to drive decision-making and continuous optimization

Customer Experience & Support

  • Collaborate with Customer Service to resolve payment-related issues quickly
  • Ensure frictionless checkout and refund processes
  • Monitor and improve payment success rates from a customer perspective
  • Act as the subject matter expert on all payment-related customer inquiries

What You’ll Bring 

Essential Experience & Qualifications 

  • 5+ years in payment operations, payment product management, or related roles in B2C or high-volume transaction environments
  • Strong understanding of global payment methods – payment gateways, acquiring banks, and settlement flows
  • Technical expertise – familiarity with payment APIs, payment gateway integration, and data analysis tools
  • SQL and Excel proficiency – ability to extract, analyse, and interpret payment data
  • Analytical mindset – identify trends, solve problems, and recommend improvements based on data
  • Regulatory knowledge – working understanding of PCI-DSS, PSD2, AML/KYC, and payment security standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Proficiency in English – additional languages are advantageous

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree or professional certifications in payments/fintech (advantageous)
  • iGaming or high-volume B2C experience (highly beneficial)
  • Experience with multiple payment processors and PSPs (valuable)
