What Is a Senior Product Designer in iGaming?

A Senior Product Designer in the iGaming industry is a design professional who leads the end-to-end user experience strategy for complex digital platforms — including operator-facing back-office systems, player-facing gaming interfaces, and internal tooling.
In a B2B iGaming context, this role sits at the intersection of UX strategy, product thinking, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration, requiring an understanding of both regulated market constraints and the commercial objectives of platform operators.

Senior Product Designers at this level move beyond execution. They drive research programmes, shape product direction, build and govern design systems, and mentor junior designers — all while maintaining a high standard of visual and interaction craft.

About This Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading B2B iGaming platform provider based in Gibraltar to recruit a Senior Product Designer to join their growing Product Design team.

This is a strategic, senior individual contributor role — one for a designer who brings strong systems thinking, a deep portfolio of shipped digital product work, and the confidence to advocate for user-centred design at the leadership level. You will own significant design challenges across the platform, drive user research initiatives, and work alongside senior stakeholders in Product, Engineering, and Commercial to shape how the product evolves.

Core Responsibilities

Design Strategy

Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Product Managers, Engineers, and Commercial stakeholders — to define and execute a design strategy aligned with business goals and user needs. Translate ambiguous briefs into clear design directions with measurable outcomes.

UX/UI Design Leadership

Lead the conceptualisation and delivery of intuitive, engaging user experiences for both B2B operator clients and end users. Apply expertise across user flows, information architecture, interaction design, and visual aesthetics to produce high-quality, coherent product experiences.

Design Systems & Standards

Establish, maintain, and enforce design standards, guidelines, and component libraries to ensure consistency across all design deliverables. Champion the design system as a shared resource across the team and organisation.

User Research & Insight

Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and customer feedback sessions. Synthesise findings into actionable design decisions that demonstrably improve user experience and business outcomes.

Wireframing & Prototyping

Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed design specifications using Figma and related tools to effectively communicate design concepts, interactions, and user flows to engineering and product counterparts.

Design Iteration

Continuously iterate on designs in response to user feedback, product analytics, and emerging industry trends. Maintain a rigorous, evidence-based approach to design refinement throughout the product lifecycle.

Mentorship & Team Development

Mentor and develop junior and mid-level designers within the team. Advocate for design best practices, foster a culture of craft, and support the integration of AI-assisted design tooling to evolve team processes and output quality.

Industry & Technology Awareness

Stay current with developments in UX/UI design, AI-powered design tools, and emerging interaction paradigms. Bring relevant innovations into the team’s practice with considered, purposeful application.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • 5+ years of UX/UI design experience across web, desktop, and mobile applications, with a demonstrable track record of shipping complex digital products
  • Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality craft, strategic design decisions, and the ability to articulate the rationale behind design choices
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component architecture, auto-layout, prototyping, and design system management
  • Leadership experience — proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop other designers within a collaborative team environment
  • Deep understanding of web technologies and their practical implications for UX/UI implementation (HTML, CSS, component-based frameworks)
  • Excellent communication skills — able to present design decisions clearly and persuasively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Systems thinking — experience designing at the system level, not just individual screens or features

Preferred / Advantageous

  • Prior experience in iGaming, fintech, or another regulated digital product environment
  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS platform design challenges, including operator tooling or back-office systems
  • Experience working with AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Galileo AI, Uizard, or similar)
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design practices
  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile product teams with short iteration cycles

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Senior Product Designer do in a B2B iGaming company? In a B2B iGaming company, a Senior Product Designer typically works across multiple product surfaces — operator back-office tools, CMS interfaces, data reporting dashboards, and player-facing gaming experiences. The role requires balancing the needs of business operator clients (who need efficient, powerful tooling) with end-user player experience, while operating within the constraints of regulated market requirements.

Is this role remote-friendly? Yes. This role is open to candidates based in Gibraltar on a hybrid basis, or to candidates working fully remote within the EU or UK. iGaming companies in Gibraltar commonly support remote working arrangements for product and design roles. We are unable to consider applications outside of the UK/EU and cannot provide visa assistance or sponsorship.

What tools do Senior Product Designers use in iGaming? Figma is the primary design tool across most iGaming product teams. Other commonly used tools include Maze or Lookback for user research, Jira and Confluence for project and documentation management, and increasingly, AI-assisted design tools for rapid ideation and design iteration.

What is the difference between a Product Designer and a UX Designer in iGaming? In most iGaming companies, the Product Designer title denotes a broader scope — encompassing UX research, interaction design, visual design, and product strategy input — whereas UX Designer may refer to a more research-focused or earlier-stage role. At senior level, a Product Designer is expected to lead the design process end-to-end and influence product direction.

Do I need iGaming experience to apply for this role? Yes. Candidates with strong B2B SaaS, or complex platform design experience — particularly those who have worked on data-heavy tooling or multi-tenant operator products — are well-suited to this role. Domain knowledge of iGaming is essential.

What is the iGaming design scene in Gibraltar like? Gibraltar has a well-established iGaming industry with a concentration of major platform providers, operators, and software companies. The design and product community is smaller than markets like London but offers strong career development opportunities, competitive compensation, and a close-knit professional environment.
