About the Role

Our client is a founder-led iGaming operator, active across both B2B and B2C, and they are hiring a hands-on Head of Finance to bring their finance function in-house. This is a fully remote role, employed through either the Cyprus or Gibraltar entity. It is deliberately not a CFO or purely strategic post. It is an ownership role for someone who wants to do the work rather than direct it from a distance.

The finance function is currently handled largely by an external corporate service provider (CSP), and this Head of Finance will bring it in-house while keeping the CSP involved for final sign-offs, audits, regulatory guidance and licensing. Day to day, the role spans reviewing and improving the chart of accounts, setting up reporting and best practice, reviewing the CSP’s work, and executing payments. In a lean team where everyone has a genuine seat at the table, this is very much a roll-your-sleeves-up position.

Working remotely with no requirement to be in an office, the Head of Finance reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the founders. This iGaming finance role suits an experienced professional who is as comfortable in the detail as they are advising at C-level, and who wants real ownership of a function they can shape from the ground up.

Strategic finance management experience is welcome, but the priority here is hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

Bring the finance function in-house from the current external CSP arrangement, while retaining the CSP where it adds value, including final sign-offs, audits, regulatory guidance and licensing.
Review, improve and maintain the chart of accounts to best practice, establishing a clean and reliable foundation for the numbers.

Set up and own financial reporting, building the reports, processes and controls that a growing business needs and currently lacks.

Review the work carried out by the external CSP and hold it to a consistently high standard.
Own and run the day-to-day finance operation, including processing and executing payments accurately and on time.
Establish finance best practice appropriate to a lean, fast-moving iGaming business operating across more than one jurisdiction.

Work across the Cyprus and Gibraltar entities, understanding the obligations in each. The Gibraltar entity is new, so its obligations are minimal at present, while most of the business currently runs through the Cyprus entity.

Partner with the Chief Operating Officer and founders, giving them clear and timely financial visibility to support decision-making. Where strategic finance input is useful, provide it, though the core of the role is execution.

Assess the current finance tooling, presently QuickBooks, and recommend or implement a better-fit system where there is a clear case to do so.

What We’re Looking For

This is a hands-on Head of Finance role, and the priority is someone who can execute rather than only advise. iGaming sector experience is essential.

Essential

  • Solid finance experience within the iGaming sector, with either a B2B or B2C background both welcome
  • A genuinely hands-on approach, comfortable owning day-to-day finance execution rather than delegating all of it
  • Strong working knowledge of the chart of accounts, financial reporting and finance best practice
  • Comfortable executing payments and running day-to-day finance operations directly
  • Experience reviewing or working alongside an external corporate service provider (CSP)
  • Experience operating across more than one jurisdiction, ideally including Cyprus or Gibraltar
  • Confident working directly with founders and senior stakeholders in a small, accountable team
  • Able to work independently and communicate well in a fully remote environment

Advantageous

The formal Head of Finance title is not essential; strong candidates with the right aptitude at a slightly different level will be considered
Strategic finance management experience alongside the hands-on execution

  • Experience selecting or implementing finance systems, for example moving from QuickBooks to an alternative such as NetSuite or Xero
  • Familiarity with the Cyprus (Nicosia) and Gibraltar finance and regulatory environments
  • Experience within a lean startup or scale-up finance function

What’s on Offer

This is a fully remote Head of Finance role with no requirement to be in an office, employed through either the Cyprus or Gibraltar entity. Permanent employment is preferred given the seniority of the role, though a B2B arrangement through the Cyprus entity can be considered. The salary is circa €85,000 to €100,000 per annum depending on experience and location, with the upper end reflecting the Gibraltar market.

Beyond the package, the real draw is genuine ownership: the chance to build a finance function from the ground up in a lean, founder-led iGaming business where everyone has a real seat at the table, within a culture built on trust, communication and accountability rather than office presence.

It is primarily hands-on, covering the chart of accounts, reporting, executing payments and reviewing the external CSP’s work. Strategic finance experience is a plus, but it is secondary to execution.
