About the Role

Our client is a well-established iGaming operator based in Malta, running a multi-brand portfolio across regulated European markets. As the business continues to scale, they are looking to bring a Finance Officer on board to support the in-house finance team across day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and record maintenance.

The Role

As Finance Officer, you will be a key support within the finance function. Your focus will be on ensuring that financial data is accurately recorded, transactions are processed on time, and reporting outputs are produced to a high standard. You will take ownership of your responsibilities from day one, with clear guidance from the Senior Accountant and the wider team behind you.

The Finance Officer role spans multiple areas of the accounting function, from journal entries and bank reconciliations through to accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and month-end close. Over time, there is genuine scope for a strong Finance Officer to take on greater responsibility as the team continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in line with company accounting policy.
• Perform regular bank statement reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correctly categorised and documented.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice preparation and approval workflows.
• Support the Senior Accountant in producing financial statements and monthly management reports.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are consistently met.
• Assist with the preparation of audit files and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Support tax filing preparation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards.
• Maintain well-organised financial records and documentation for both internal and external review.
• Flag discrepancies and irregularities to the Senior Accountant in a timely and clear manner.

What We Are Looking For

• The ideal Finance Officer will be studying towards or hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• You will have up to two years of relevant accounting experience, though strong recent graduates with the right attitude and a genuine interest in the iGaming sector are equally encouraged to apply.
• You will need to be highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers on a daily basis, and confident using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting tasks.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or a comparable platform will be an advantage.
• Beyond the technical requirements, we are looking for a Finance Officer who is organised, reliable, and proactive.
